i7
i5
i3
AMD Phenom ii X4 965
Q6600
E2150
E8100

I'm not sure if there's a list of all of them but I think it goes like this (in order of best to worst)

i7
i5
AMD Phenom II 965
i3
Q6600
E8100
E2150

Thanks, what about when clocking the chips?

I thought an I3 would be a fair bit faster and a Q6600 thats a few years old. Isnt there a load of chips that compair to the Q6600, - Q9500 or something

Which processor is fastest will depend on what software it is running. The i7 920 at 4ghz is a popular choice, but often purchased by people who would have been wise to buy a cheaper system as they're playing games on it instead of number crunching.

Q6600 is a bit out of place though unless its heavily overclocked, especially in a gaming system. Unless all 4 cores are used fully the i3 should spank a Q6600, and remember the Q6600 is the "slower" 65nm quad, the Q9xxx's are noticeably faster clock for clock, coming in not that far behind the i5/i7 models. Likewise the i3 can outperform the PhenomII's in many games where quads are simply overkill.
