CPU Temp Help

Hi people i have a slight qustion maybe a problem
my AMD athlon 64 x2 4200+ is running at 45-50C at idle 50-60C full load is that normal or ba i use the artic cooler freezer 7 pro rev 2.

ive tried re positioning the cooler reapplying heatsing past or what ever u all it and got the same prob please help me :)

depends on the case but i'd say thats a little hi
i have a x2 3800+ which idles at 26 and 54 under load clocked to 2.5 ghz thats using the arctic cooling freezer 64 just a cheap budget IMO the freezer 7 should be giving u better temps than that.

what thermal compound are you using
 
My pc is kinda a budget pc thermal compound is mx-2 that came with the cooler i have a side fan + bk fan case is the galaxy 3

sounds ok whats your room temp
also you didn't take the heatsink off did you then just stick it back on again?
did u clean it and re apply new thermal compound

actually amd says there tj max was 65 degrees read it on some white label spec sheets on there about a month ago a few people have said to me to never to take these above 60
 
just to confirm max temps for the x2 series was 65 degrees
so i wouldn't let it go over that just in case
whats you ambiant room temp
are you from the uk

lol -18 there in some places it should be running at about 25-30 idle on the freezer 7 something is not right


is the fan working correctly?
are all your fans working ok?
have you changed anything else other thatn re seating the cooler?
what temp software are you using

i'll get back to you in about an hour after you reply got some stuff to do
 
Freezer 7 is brand new today so wouldnt think so all fans are working and blowing rite way havnt changed enything at all and finally using core temp since its the ony 1 i know and shows same as bios for me :)

idle 21-24
load 49-51

thats a stock cooler and the cpu is overclocked by 25% 2.5ghz instead of 2.0ghz

so to me something is not right with yours

it could be yes i used to have all this stuff in a small shuttle and temp were 60c without the overclock and a small gpu

now i have the HAF 932 Case
arctic cooling alpine 64
and a 4870 which gives off a lot more heat than my old 2600xt

What case do you have??? a picture of the inside may help maybe it's a fan problem
 
i have the Galexy 3 mid range gaming case looks like this inside.
