Mate could you go have a look in the bios what the hardware monitor is saying your CPU temp is?
I have seen some pretty messed up temperature readings when two applications are open at the same time which utilize the same sensors. So maybe you are getting a false reading. Just maybe. The bios should give a reasonably accurate picture.
If the bios confirms that the temps are the same, then do you have the original Intel cooler that came with the CPU? If so pop it on and see if there is any difference.
It could just be that your cooler base is no longer seating correctly. The stock cooler will be able to confirm or toss that idea in the garbage.
