CPU temperature 100C under load

First time poster here and I'm a not a PC expert, not even close.

I recently noticed my CPU temperature reaches 100C when under load, so today I cleaned my PC after 3 years of just leaving it, and there's no more dust.

I have also reapplied new thermal paste.

But, my CPU still reaches 100C under load. Why is the CPU temp that high? What else can I do?

Intel i7-7700k with Intel Original E97379-003 CPU Cooler Fan
Mobo??
2 x 8GB Crucial DDR4-2133 CL15
EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case
Fan layout: one at the front end, one at the back end with the air flow towards each other (sorry if this is not descriptive enough)
I am running scripts which uses all 8 cores at 100% usage more or less and this is the main reason why I use the PC
CPU is also not overclocked at all

I've used this setup for 3 years, why would the cooler now not be adequate?

So you're saying the cooler itself has degraded so it needs replacing or are you saying it was never good enough in the first place? because it was fine before until recently

Also if I get this dual fan setup you linked, can I leave my case fans as they are or will that mess up the air flow?

I've just fitted in the new cooler and the CPU now reaches 85-90C under load.

Is there any more I can do to get the temp down?

Also bear in mind is very hot today so you would expect to see temps around 10c lower on a normal day.

I did turn the back fan around yes.

The temps are 90-95C now. Even on a hot day like today, is it normal for your CPU to get this hot?

Idle temp is 45C. When I take the side panel off the CPU temp fluctuates between 85C and 95C under load, mostly 90C+

How do I check/change that? I'm just going by the numbers that MSI Afterburner is giving me

I have this motherboard MSI Z270 PC MATE ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
I turned the fans to full speed but it didn't help

I've downloaded CPU-Z and it doesn't say core VID anywhere but does it say Core Voltage 1.160V
