CPU temps?

Hey, I just got on my PC and I thought I should check the temps first, I am using an I5 3570K with the stock cooler and 3 case fans.

The MOBO is asrock z77 extreme 4

I was in the BIOS and the temps where 35c

But in the AsRock extreme tuning utility the temps are 30c

Are these temps normal and how do I find out full load temps?

Those temps sound about right.

To test load temps you need to download Core Temp or Real Temp or use your AsRock utility and run either Prime95 or Intel Burn Test.

yeah idle temperatures look ok. my idle is about 35°c. as above see what the temperatures are like under load!

OK I used intel burn on a standard test and the max temp was 81c

That's quite high without overclocking the CPU, what's your room ambient temperature?

That test done 10 in a row if that makes any difference, I do not know that ambient room temps at the minute

Are you planning to overclock the CPU? If so then invest in a aftermarket cooler

No I am not planing on overclocking any time soon, still new to all this.

IBT was really the wrong tool to use, it aims to produce the most heat possible. Prime 95 would be a better test for load temps.

I tried downloading prime95 but had trouble finding a decent site to get it from

I assume you have 64 Bit of OS? If so download this version of Prime95
