What is the best CPU to pair with an RTX 3080? Something that won’t bottleneck , isn’t ridiculously expensive and just in general a perfect fit for the RTX 3080.

I went with a 5800X myself. It has dipped under $400 lately, but the cheaper 5600X performs effectively just as well in most games.

11400F at just £150 is a good option and will match the more expensive ryzen 5000s at 1440P or above although it is about 10% slower at 1080P not that you would run that resolution on a 3080 unless your into competitive FPS shooters.

Pure gaming? 5600x.
5800x if you usually like to have other apps etc open in the background and some future proofing. I have the feeling the extra cores might be useful in upcoming games like battlefield 2042.

I think any of the 5000 series Ryzen chips will be great assuming you're gaming at 1080p/1440p

I went for the same card (3080) but only after deciding to get a 5600x over the 5800x, soni could up my gpu budget and fet the 3080.

Obviously if money is no object get the 5800x

I have the 5800x and my plan is to upgrade the GPU to 3080. Also bought some decent RAM from OCUK.

Paid £450 for CPU, which was a good deal at the time.
