Yeah it's fine. Though the seller sold it for a friend so could have been faulty as the seller would have not have tested it, recently had the same issue on AVforums. Either way if he won't refund you get him to RMA it for you, Intel will send you a new one.

Total bs my friend, it's an non-coated gold surface, if you pick it up with your finger it will show dark due to tiny residue. It will fade and tarnish over time regardless like your gold jewellery but if you wipe with isopropyl alcohol it should look nice and shiny.

Bottom line it's all good, metal tarnishes with air as well as water.

He actually asked me to do that....which i feel is unfair as its down to him but he said he will not reply to any of my emails and is just sending it back to me...i am keeping all the emails for future reference as well as they have all been respectful on my behalf.

As many of you over clockers know you don't get the tarnish until it's been highly clocked, this CPU has never been overlooked. Roach says he didn't notice it hmmmmm but the CPU comes back broken when it came out of a working right. The mark was worse until I wiped it. You can't see the mark on the pic as well as you can with your eye either.

So before you start slinging mud you so get to know all the facts first.

That's the issue selling it for someone else unless you confirmed it working it could always have been faulty. Either way I would just refund him and get it replaced and sell it on as new for more than what you sold it for used, Intel are great with warranties and no invoice required. A guy sold me a faulty GPU on Avforums for a friend, he wouldn't back down and got himself banned over it, really not worth it, and I never got a refund.

I saw the CPU working otherwise I wouldn't of sold it. I've submitted a RMA to intel this morning. But I'm not going to give a refund when it came back in the state it did. It's never be overclocked and was working. Now it's got stains on it and not working. If it came back the way I sent it then I would have given a refund right away but now I'm out of pocket with postage (X2 if I have to send to intel) time off work for posting (again X2) and time off work for collection.

Thing that seem odd to me is that roach said there wasn't a mark on it but now there is, soon as the parcel got a failed delivery he was emailing me and when I collected it from the post office he emailed me about a refund before I even got back home. The post office is 2 mins drive from my house.

I've opened a despite as he didn't (or not to my knowledge) he kept sending the same email and not addressing my questions but I was addressing his.so I told him I'll no longer reply to his emails.
