I have a [email protected] at the moment with 4gb ddr2 800mhz @900mhz


which chip do you guys recommend as the best upgrade for gaming ?

i was in the same boat just yesterday, in the end i ordered a E8600 and can't wait for it to arrive.

considering you have 450mhz capable ram, with the E8600's x10 multi will give you 4.5Ghz (providing CPU capable of). the 8.5x of the Q9550 will get 3.8Ghz max so u don't have much leg (or head?!?!?!) room.

Since u game save the £40 and get the E8600 like me

tbh, i can't pretend the be an expert on that board, don't have it

but a P35 Chipset should be able to take all recent chips, but best to update the bios since u still have your E2180
