cpu upgrade?

I currently have a phenomon x2 550 with unlocked cores making it a quad.

Would this cpu and motherboard be a decent upgrade? Im looking for a good performance increase as i do a lot of gaming. Also im using a 500wat psu, is this enough for my 6850 and 8gb ram aswell?

What make and model is your current PSU, Also are you looking to overclock?

OCZ stealthXstream is the psu, i wont be doing any overclocking.

That looks fair

You would need a cooler though, if spend a extra £6 go with the retail version of the cpu which includes a cooler and 3 year warranty.

Take it you not interested in the FX ?
I take it you probabaly have a AM3 mb right now that youre running the Phenom in?
tbh from what I read about the FX chips...if I was in the market for an upgrade right now i'd probabaly jump ship to Intel, unless i could source an X6 1100T or a 1050T....
