I've been putting off upgrade for a long time, but looking at either i9 9900x or i9 9900k

Bang for buck I guess the 9900k is the one, but as I do not want to upgrade again for a while should i just take the plunge and go i9 9900x

Is there real world advantages you could share?

Yeah, should have mentioned that to make it easier for everyone
Mixture really, video editing, gaming will be the areas I am looking at.
Yes, the one in my sig

As mobo & RAM will also be required I want to try and future proof as much as possible. Knowing my luck I will do a major upgrade and a new chipset will launch DDR5 will be required etc......

If you plan on using Adobe Premier Pro cc then the 9900K would be the best option.

Are you looking to change the gpu as well, or are you happy with the RX 580 ?
