CPU voltage question

Iv just set up my new Asus P5Q with E7200 and im slightly confused with the voltages.

in the bios i set the voltage to 1.35 but in cpuz it is saying the voltage is 1.088 and pc probe says the voltage is 1.09

temps are about 56c with dual prime @ 2.8ghz

hummm well pc probe is just rounding the value up.... but that is very low, when cpuz says 1.088, is that at load or just idle, because u might have speed step enabled so when not doing anything it might crank the voltage right down and only bump it up when under load. so i would check that first. :)

it was at full load. think iv solved it now

other problem i have is temps at 1.088v im at 55c on the cores :( iv tried resetting the hsf no luck will have to try again tomorrow

hsf - TRUE with 120mm 1600rpm fan + Arctic Ceramique

its a coolermaster stacker case with
2x 120mm front intake
1x 80mm top intake
1x 120 rear exhaust

iv spent 2 days on new pc been hard work :(

humm thats odd because i have the same HSF and mine at loads goes to about 50 oC with a 1.36 voltage in cpuz..... humm tricky, anyone else got ideas?

stock voltage but 3ghz clock

temp2-1.jpg

iv done a quick test to see what the temps were at 1.35 and they were 75c+

going to try reset the hsf again

after resting the hsf again the temps are exactly the same :(

edit////

i have set cpu voltage to 1.35 again and cpuz and pc probe are telling me the voltage is 1.12.

i don't understand

speed step is disabled in the bios but it is still reducing the multiplier according to cpuz

im thinking there is something up with the board :S unless i am missing something??

I would update the BIOS. The readings may have been corrected in a newer BIOS.

And do it via the flashing option within the BIOS, and not via the Windows flashing utility.

iv flashed to 0703 easy :)

right with the voltage you have to type in the numbers using the keypad where i was using the + and - buttons

edit//

was just reading on the ASUS forums that the beta 0901 bios recalibrates the cpu temp diodes and there's a 10c drop in temp. dunno whether should try that bios
