Sorry if this has been asked before (and im sure it has) and also for possibly being a tad thick, but, what is the difference between VID and CPU Voltage ?

My understanding is that the VID is the minimum voltage required to boot @ idle / stock settings and the Volts are what power is being provided to the Chip, is this correct ?

I have CPU volts set to "auto" in BIOS and have the following readings:

So I assume this is telling me that I NEED 1.325V to boot @ stock and im current putting 1.464V through the CPU, is this correct

Cheers

So all you need to do is go into the BIOS and change it from auto to manual, and then enter 1.3250v.

I'd also enable Speedstep and C1E in the BIOS too, as it'll drop your clock speed/voltage/multiplier according to workload. When your just browsing etc, then the CPU will run cooler and more efficiently, and will return to normal automatically when doing anything intensive. :)

I noticed this as your CPU usage is at almost zero in those pictures, yet everest shows 40w usage. With speedstep enabled, i can get it down to 19w.
