CPU Z Buggy?

Hi

I Built myself a new computer last week and in CPU Z it says my processor is running at 1999.9mhz and sometimes the multiplier jumps from x6 to x9 so its running at 2999.9mhz which it should be. Speedstep is also disabled.

Also the memory says DDR3, and in the SPD tab it says DDR2, which it is, again, could this be a bug?

Regarding CPU: Its part of Intel Speed Step. Its to save power by decreasing the CPU speed when its not needed

The DDR2/3 thing would appear to be a bug, what motherboard is it?

No it shouldn't do. IIRC there are two settings to disable it, but I cant remember what the second one is called - will get me manual out now.

You need to disable C1E as well as speedstep to disable the feature.

Set your RAM timings manually, they look bad.

4-4-4-12 for anything up to 440mhz.
5-5-5-15 450-500mhz.

no, it depends entirely on what RAM he's got. some ram won't run tight timings
