CPU-Z reading wrong

Ok i have finished building my new rig and cable sorting pics will be posted in the correct part of the forum another time, But for now ive started CPU-Z and its saying my CPU is running at 2 GiG where other programs are saying 3 GiG Pic Here any ideas or is it a case of new board that cpu-z cant read correctly.

Oh BTW im very impressed with the board and other bits but the cooler I got will be changed very shortly Akasa revo This thing it was A. not flat so took ages to sort that and B. generally sucks. Yeh its light weight very light weight but temps are not great 45 at idle and 70 on load General unfortunatley I cant find a program to monitor properly as its a new board the XFX 780i .. any ideas on this welcome

its seems to be intel speedstep, it lowers the multiplier of the cpu when it is idle and takes it back up when it is needed. this can be turned off in the bios

... but you wouldn't want to do that all the time... think about the trees

Yep thaught that but its disabled in the bios.

Whats your multiplier set to in the BIOS, should be 9.

Speedstep is still running. Check for EIST and C1E in the BIOS.

Yeh it is set to 9 as you can see by the other apps that are running.

CPU-Z shows multiplier is 6 then in brackets 6-9, which made me wonder,
not sure if the others show what it thinks it should be and not actual
