Hi guys,

I've recently taken readings from CPU-Z and I noticed my core speed is lesser than my processor speed.

Sorry if I used the wrong terms but what I mean is that from the image below, my processor is a Q6600 @ 2.40GHZ but the core speed is only at 1603.6

Is it normal to have the difference between 2.40GHZ and 1603.6?

Thanks in advance.

What you need to do is run prime 95 with cpuz running, then the cpu will up its clock to stock......

~Yes its running slower because you have speedstep set in the bios.
It means that when the cpu is idle, you use less power be underclocking :)

As mentioned its the speedstep. If you check the rated FSB in CPU-Z it shows 267 ,which is exactly what the Q6600 should be to top out at 2.4ghz under load. The multiplier has moved down to 6x , so you can see what its doing.
