cpu-z wrong processor reading?

so this is the chip i got: Intel Core i5 760 2.80GHz (Lynnfield) (Socket LGA1156)

ive just installed cpu-z and this is my reading:

surely something is wrong here or am i missing something? pretty much all settings on my bios is stock and my mobo is this: Asus P7P55D-E Intel P55 (Socket 1156)

Speedstep, Put it under some load like prime95 and it will go back up to 2.8ghz.

It's running slower due to being idle, and saving power. When you do something worthwhile, it will jump back up =P

ah that makes sense, should i consider turning this option off or is it fine as it is

Unless you are overclocking just leave it on. It will make the cpu last longer

Doubt it makes a noticeable change. Besides, who cares about electricity bills pssht!
