CPU_FAN - would it prevent power on?

On a z77x-ud3h. If the CPU_FAN header is disconnected, would this prevent the system from powering on?

You can try it (connect the CPU cooler to a different fan header). Most mobos will boot but will give an error alert.

As above you may get a CPU_FAN header error on boot up.

There will be an option in the bios to "ignore" the CPU_FAN or something along those lines.
