Strange overclock readings
Hello I am Quite familiar with overclocking but something strange is happening. I am using the P8Z77 pro v Thunderbolt board with a i7 3770k.
I have had an overclock of 4.6ghz for a while now and I wanted to tinker with the overclock again. I reset the bios to default. Upon booting up CPU -Z was still showing all the previous settings 4.6ghz and the x46 multiplier etc. I defaulted the bios once again but same result. I uninstalled and completely removed and reinstalled CPU -Z but same result.
In task manager it shows 3.50ghz so the clock is default and correct but why is CPU -Z holding on to the old overclock? I even installed OCCT and that also shows 4.6ghz. That means for some reason every CPU software is reading this old overclock, How can this be? Does anybody know how to solve this?
