** CPU's AT COST PRICE UNTIL 18:00 FRIDAY TO CELEBRATE BLACK FRIDAY!! **

Yes that is truly possible as their are two sources for Intel chips:-
Official Intel authorised distributor
Grey channel.

Grey stock is always cheaper, but of course we loose all our support on the product from intel, warranty, rebate, marketing etc.

As such we stick to official channels only, but of course for the end user it makes little difference unless the etailor you purchase from refuses to deal with a return as Intel can refuse to deal with it as well.

So that potentially explain why some places can have even lower prices.

So how exactly is grey market stock cheaper, and by what amount?

They will be buying from Intel AND making a profit selling it at these lower prices.

I think cost price in this instance means wholesale price + overhead margins calculated to whatever they are, + VAT.

Intel 4820K 3.70GHz (Ivybridge-E) Socket LGA2011 Processor - OEM (CM8063301292805) @ £227.99 inc VAT

Not purchased an oem chip before, can you tell me have these been speed binned etc or is it just because they were bought by the tray?
Cheers :)

OEM is basically a chip without box cooling, box and only has 1 year warranty. Other then that it's this same...

I believe they don't speed bin the OEM (and Retail) chips for sale, only the other OEM chips they use in their systems.

B grade would be warranty replacements and chips with damaged/shortage packaging...?

B-grade (like my mobo, it was such a steal :)) is an item returned with a failure which is then fixed, tested and put in sale sometimes missing some gadget's or boxes.

A grade I'm not sure, but seen few items in competitors marked as 'A-grade'...
