Crackdown - pleasantly surprised.

Just had this delivered yesterday for the bargain price of £13 new and i must say it is fantastic. I wasn't expecting much at all and was initially a little disappointed but once you start increasing your abilities and getting different weapons it soon becomes a lot of fun.

Now i know why a few people had this as their game of the year. I recommend it; especially now it's so cheap.

What are others' opinions of it (i've noticed a few have it)?

Played it when it came out, very enjoyable game. The better your abilities get, the better the game becomes so its worth playing all the way through

Yeah I picked this up for £8 pre-owned before Xmas and it's a fantastic game especially when your all maxxed out - the supercar is mental!

I thought it was awesome, but I soon got bored and sold it. However come pay day I might pick it up again as I never actually got round to completing it.

I also didn't make the most of the co-op as it never seemed to work properly for me. Only got on once for about 10 mins and it was good fun

I loved the almost puzzle like tasks of getting to the top of really high buildings. Especially the agency tower, that was great fun

Crackdown's fantastic, it doesn't get the recognition it deserves. It gets better and better the further in you get too, because of the advancements in your abilities. I've picked it up recently after not playing it for ages, I'm going to get round to finishing it I've decided.

Same here. I never touched the co-op which I think was a mistake but I'm not a huge online gamer. Now it's so cheap, it seems daft to not pick it up.

I loved it and whipped through the campaign quite fast, downloaded the free content pack and that was great as well. But then it corrupted my save and I haven't touched it since.

Great game which in some ways was denied the kudos it deserved on it's own with having the Halo 3 beta included. Remember there's a free download for it (and a pay one) which adds a few new achievements.

PS... I did find all 500 orbs... c'mon!

It's fun, then it gets a bit repetitive as there really aren't that many missions and I'd say about 75% of them can be completed in the same way: jump into the enemy compound, hold down fire, win.

Still, a fun game.

Agreed, great game though....can be very addictive trying to level up your character, then before you know it the game is completed :'(

What did the free download pack consist of?

I remember it sounding quite good but had sold it before it came out.

It had new weapons such as a harpoon type gun, some new gameplay modes which I think were street races and some new vehicles. I never had it but thats what I remember it being advertised as. Think I may have to play it again with the DLC
