Crash :(

Almost had this happen to me a few times in the wet, when you pull out the change lanes you usually have your foot down, Damp / Wet white line + cats eyes = one rear wheel slips then the lsd makes the other one slip and before you know it you've spun round.

Its so easy to do in a rwd car with some power, thats why in the wet i now pull out then put my foot down, if this was a fwd car it wouldn't have gone round the front of the car would have pulled slightly thats all.

The main reason i posted was because im amazed at how they both walked away and the car broke up so well without damaging the passenger cell.
Don't want to sound condescending but cars are just built that way. Mild steel for the wings, bonnet, etc with a stronger compartment for the driver/passenger. They're designed to crumple and basically fall apart at the front which is why that picture looks so bad.

He doesn't but you don't overtake without accelerating do you

On many occasions coming up behind slower cars on a DC I just pull out without even the slightest hint of acceleration to pass. Slightly more on topic, good to hear they are both ok and no other cars involved as it could easily have been so much worse.

I can't win, I really can't. I didn't even start this arguement, it was R124, but blame me anyway, might as well.

I'm not having a go dude, just saying I always seem to see you argueing with someone lol.

Haven't seen an RX-7 in real life for ages.

i would be pretty confident that he was accellerating, as he had only just joined the carrigeway, found a car infront of him, and then continued his accelleration from the slip road to go around the car.

Perhaps it was just the white line/cats eyes that set the whole thing off?

Looks like he lost the Power vs Traction vs Self control battle.

At least he walked away so can hopefully learn from the experience.

Rx7 + rain can be pretty dangerous even at slow speeds, quite a few rx7 owners don't even venture out when it's been raining for fear of ending up in a ditch.

Friend of mine crashed his RX7 on the first day of ownership, lost the back end accelerating up a motorway sliproad in damp conditions.

Having owned an S2000 it was quite eventful around mini roundabouts, etc in the wet particularly with the ultra-hard sidewall Bridgestones.

No mate, you can't win, well not with me on your case anyway!

I'm sure you know I'm just a petrol thrower. ;) :D

MY mate drove past there after he crashed and was telling about it. By the sound of it (and the pic), it looked quite nasty. Lucky him and his GF are alright.

did your mate get charged malt or has he got the all clear from the rozzers?

Im not sure yet, all he has at the moment is a producer!

He was a bit shaken up, and didnt say if he had formally been charged, but i will see. I think it will be quite harsh if they do. Some people stopped to give witness reports, so they may wait till they have reviewed them before they charge formally?

I dont know exactly how this works, when i was charged i was read my rights, and informed of the potiental charge there and then in the police car.
