Oh and just remembered, no idea what they were called but it was basically a bit of metal like a tape measure covered in material, you would unroll it and it would go flat then you would throw it at your arm and it would snap round like a bracelet.

yeah i remember them, think i remember they were banned from our school cos of injuries(???? )

when i was at primary school we had wwf wrestling cards!! and those things that had a hoop over one foot and a big wheel attached they span round and round whilst tring to skip

Craze at the moment for kids are those shoes with roller skates on them. See loads of them, must have got barged into about 10 times when I went shopping the other day.

We had:

Cabbage Patch Kids (iirc not the dolls but a card game that was out at the time)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (you were cool if you hated "hero" version)
Panini Football Stickers (you could never complete the full Old Firm teams unless you were rich)

As well as the others already mentioned.
