the 802.11ac devices feature, um, striking looks that hopefully won't frighten small children or animals. D-Link calls the models "attractive" with a "modern form-factor for today's homes," and we'd agree -- provided you live in some kind of rouge-accented spaceship. Performance-wise, however, the new models are definitely drool-worthy, thanks to 802.11ac tri-band beamforming speeds between 3.1- and 5.3Gbps, along with gigabit ethernet, high power antennas and onboard USB 3.0 ports.

I'm loving the look of the thing. It looks like it means business.

SHould be available about Mid to end of March time I am getting pricing when I can and will have them set up once I get full details. I expect a ridiculous price for them. Dont forget to order a new desk to put it on as well, they look rather large.

According to the verge it will be/is $310 in the US.

Looking at those pics, the enclosure looks like really cheap plastic. It's the gubbins inside that counts, sure, but if you go out of your way to make it look like face-hugger/decepticon hybrid and have a price point north of £200 it should look the part, too!

Yeah the one in the video only has 6 antennas where the AC5600 has 8 of them. The AC3200 will be March the AC5600 will be later.

Yep. This really is the next step in so-called "premium" gear, similar to how "gaming" peripherals have exploded as a market.

We're already starting to see sillier and sillier pricing to go along with the marketing buzzwords. Not completely there yet but give it time.
