It says in the book 80k or 60k adverse conditions my next service is due at 43k then 56k hmmm decisions decisions.
Mine was going strong on its first belt at >60K miles, and mine was driven... hard ;)

I'm aware of that - my car is on such a scheme - but afaik he has a Saxo which is not variable servicing and is either x miles or 1 year, whichever is sooner?

Yeah every 12500 miles or every year I think, tbh it is it done befrore 13 months has past, so I do not leave it to long.

The 2.0 HDi Citroen C5 my sister bought was listed as being 100k or 10 years for the timing belt...i told them not a chance!. on 50-odd k and 4 years old now, it'll be done within a few months for sure.
:)

My Toyota is quite obviously on its original timing belt. And it's 20 years old and has 196,000 miles on it. And none of them too kind of miles, either.

No idea, all I know is that the engine has never had a bolt out of it (except the sump drain plug).

Rubber degrading after 10 years? That's a new one on me. Then how are the original flexible brake hoses on my truck still working after 25 years?

Makes my paltry 30k for a cam belt change seem rubbish. To which 30k is approaching very fast so that will be another £300-£350 to spend out :(

If only the belts lasted as long as the puegeot book say they do, unfortunately on the 306 gti6 they seem to go early.

I'd love a cam chain instead of a belt. My motorbike goes one better still as it has a cam gear train which is unlikely to ever wear out :D
