iv recently bought an abit fatal1ty aa8xe. put a 775 prescott 3.0ghz into it. an x300 . 512mb of ddr2 400.

when i turn it on it its quiet and then after about 5 seconds it starts making this siren noise which doesnt stop!! all coming from the intergrated speaker. but the strange thing is. it boots up. even managed to get it to boot into windows. it only likes to work in bios failsafe mode though. and it keeps turning it self off. and you can still hear the buzzer with the anoying siren. until you turn it off at the psu. But if it manages to get into windows. it doesnt reboot randomly.

if this makes sense

any help please. do you think its a faulty mobo?

Siren ? Like a UK fire engine ?
If so I would suspect that the CPU is overheating or the CPU fan has stopped.
Either way, take the CPU heatsink off and reseat it using fresh thermal compound, then double check you have the CPU fan plugged into the correct CPU fan header on the motherboard and that it is turning.

it could be you didnt connect the cpu fan connection to the cpu fan header, i believe they like you to plug it into that sensor as its the only one that bleeps if it goes below a certain RPM.
