** CRAZY NVIDIA PRICES - LOWEST IN THE UK! **

Ummm, ok. Card not really behaving as I had hoped.

Very stuttery in crisis 2 even when using the same settings as the 275.

Behaviour confirmed using furmark...short video here

I have used nv for years now and always install/update drivers as advised on boards like this etc.

Any thoughts?

Wjat power supply are you using mate, id say that the cardfs wither overheating and throttling or not getting enough juice :)

Hmm, it's a 480 watt Tagan PSU and while it doesn't meet the 550w nvidia requirement, I assumed as previously advised that was to allow for cheaper psu's with unreal power claims....

No?

The 570 needs a minimum of 38 amps on the 12v rail according to many sites and the 480w Tagen PSU I saw after a quick google search only has 29 amps. Combined with the fact you have a 3.6GHz Q6600 I'd say change your PSU quickly before it blows.

Hmm, seemingly this is the case

PNY GTX570 requires - A minimum 550W or greater system power supply (with a minimum 12V current rating of 38A)

My Tagan 480-u22 can only bang out 30a on the 12v rail.

When I put the pressure on the new card, I really didnt get the fps increase I had hoped for from the gtx275.

So, running furmark to see what's going on I noted that the PSU is making VERY bad noises during furmark and crisis 2 stutters.

:(

Have a pretty push budget at the mo so could anyone recommend a psu for me?

Gibbo.

How do we return the cards due to the non-reference issue?

Do we raise an RMA?

Andy

Yes, if your unhappy with it, simply return it under RMA or 7 day distance selling. :)

Apologies for that, I did not realise there are a re-design on the 570. :(

MSI have done that with their 570's too! I got one thinking it would be reference and it turned out to be a 570 chip using a 470 pcb and cooler, managed to get that swapped for a twin frozr iii pe tho :)

No need to apologise Mr Gib......you werent to know.

Do you have any cheap 570's that use the reference board that I could swap to?

If I ditch this card I will be without a gfx card and a computer :(
