Hi there

Great news!
3D also works across all three monitors in games, so you can play games in 120Hz across three monitors, or you can play in 3D across three monitors and that is pretty cool. As each monitor comes with glasses two of your buddies can watch also in 3D at the same time. :)

Well I popped into Overclockers this afternoon! (why is the gate closed? O.o)

And well:

Sorry for the poor image, iPhones don't like the light!

This can only run 2 monitors in 120hz and Eyfinity in 60hz using the £20 DP to DVI converter. So far so good everything is working flawlessly! :D

Still a lot of setting up to do and I need some time to test some games which I will be doing later tonight, I'll be sure to report back the results :) It also looks like you get a FREE copy of TriDef3D which was one of my concerns.

EDIT: Just noticed something though... One of them has a nice cluster of 3-4 dead pixels :( ah wells.

If the clusters are really bad give their on-site support a call. But first try reviving them via massage and those software utilities. :)

If you want 120Hz on all three in my research I've discovered the fix is the Startech powered Dual Link Adapter posted above. :)

that setup looks win.

if you need anyone to assist your 'testing' on racing games using your G27 wheel then I would be happy to volunteer :p

Yeah, I'll look into that for the future. I don't think my wallet is up for another hit at the moment and I'm only running off a lonely 5870 which is DP not Mini-DP plus won't be able to run much in 3D on 3 screens :p

Thank you for the advise about the pixels, I'm hoping they might clear up :)

Time for a little run down of thy these are awesome compared to my previous monitors and for my needs:

- The screens are amazing in 2D the colours as so much better than my previous Dell 21.5" along with that they are much brighter, I'm guessing this is due to the LED backlit feature.
- The built in 2D-3D works a fairly well considering it is doing it all on the fly, I haven't messed around with it in games but it did work for some 1080p movies I tried without ghosting or issues.
- Eyefinity users - THESE ARE AMAZING, the small bezels make such a difference compared to my chunky 2-3cm width bezels, also having 3 identical monitors rather than a mix and match is far better :)
- They are extremely crisp with the gloss screen!
- Glasses auto detect when 3D is displayed so they turn themselves on and off as needed, the monitor also gives you a quick pop-up when 3D is in use
- TriDef3D games looked fantastic! I haven't had a good play around with them so I did have a few fps issues in MW2 but that could be because of my ageing 5870.
- 120hz - I didn't think this would make much difference but it is almost comparable to 30-60hz jump, all the animations look that little bit smoother. Again I haven't tested it out fully in games yet but windows alone is impressing me :p

Cons
- It might be just because its sunny today but the gloss screen is reflecting pretty badly at the moment on the screens that are off, so for an eyefinity setup it looks like I'm slightly egotistical with a vanity mirror :D
- Few dead pixels on 1 monitor, I haven't looked into trying to unstick them or contacting Samsung support.
- The 2D-3D does cause a little bit of input lag but nothing too crazy.

So far a great purchase and will hopefully only get better the more I play with them. Now time to claim back that VAT!

Okay final shots now that I have cleaned up a tiny bit.

Still a massive cable mess of plugs which I'll be looking to sort out tomorrow :p

Look at those Bezels!

The cluster of dead pixels/dirt behind the screen. Anyone think Samsung will do anything about it? :)

Remember to run the Bezel allignment so everything lines up perfect. :)

Let me know what Samsung say, if you have issues, I shall see what I can do from my side or just get it swapped out for you from out stock as I've checked 9 of these screens so far, with zero dead pixels, so seems very unlucky you got that one.

Yeah done that :D Just forgot to change the res in C.A.R.S, the alignment is so much better than my previous monitors.

I'll keep you updated about the monitor with the dead pixel, thanks Gibbo and the rest of the OCUK team!

you could try putting the outside monitors behind the main display, so there bezel is hidden :)

Done :D

Just wanted to report back now that I have played with them a bit. First off I'm not the biggest 3D user and don't have much experience with it bar my 3DS/odd IMAX visits.

- the 2D to 3D conversetion works great on almost anything, standard 1080p movies worked a treat along with YouTube videos and even pictures!
- 120hz is an odd sensitisation that I'm loving, it's not as big of a leap from 30/60 but it's deffiently noticeable even by none keen eyes.
- Proper 3D blu-rays are even better than the built in Samsung 2D-3D conversation with great viewing angels and zero eye strain for myself.
- Full 3D gaming tri-def is pretty special and is on par with the brief nvidea encounters I have had at trade events (gadget show an the ocuk one a while back). But there is a performance hit and a bit off a faff getting new games setup on it.
- Not sure how this works but I can run 3D Eyefinity at 60hz using the Samsung 2d-3D conversion with ZERO performance hit which is pretty amazing!!! The 3D isn't quite as good as using tri-def profiles but it is still what I would call a proper 3D experience
- no eye strain issues here after watching 2-3 movies and a few hours of messing with games and the like.

Overall I'm very impressed with how well these monitors display 3D content but I'm also mighty impressed with the 2D quality and performance. I still have my issue with the dead pixels in which I've contacted Samsung with no reply as of yet.

Oh nearly forgot to mention, the Vat claiming method is very simple and only took me 5 minutes!!!

Excellent to hear your report. :)
Yes the Samsung 3D is very easy on the eyes no strain or headaches, whereas the NV 3D stuff does give me a headache after 10-15 mins :(

If Samsung don't sort your dead pixels, we'll swap it out for you at OcUK under the DSR act. )
