Seems to be something dodgy happening with Chain Reaction Cycles again, purchased 2 items from then in the past 3 weeks and had two mysterious transactions appear on my card.

Contacted the bank who couldnt say who/what they were but they had been "signed" for despite me being several hundred miles away from the location.

The first transaction was for £1.23 which appears to have vanished, the most recent is £1.00 exactly.

Anyone else noticed unusual account activity following purchases from CRC ?

I know Paypal have a bad reputation around these parts, but this is one of the reasons I make my purchases at CRC/Wiggle/etc via Paypal. I hope you're able to get to the bottom of it, and with any luck it won't be due to another breach at CRC.

I do hope this isn't happening again. I had to deal with £4100 worth of fraudulent transactions the last time and bought something from them for the first time since then just over a week ago.

Thanks for posting this up, I was actually thinking about going back to using the site again. Had stopped after my card was done during their last security balls-up, I'll carry on going elsewhere. :)

Living without a bank card for a week the last time was extremely inconvenient.

^This.

After hearing about the fraud on CRC and Wiggle I now only use PayPal on these sites. No great inconvenience and you'd hope there's less chance of being a victim of fraud with PayPal :)

The first transaction for £1.23 had no name and was "signed" for, will pop down to the bank on my lunch break and see what this £1.00 transaction is all about.

they are test transactions

then they hit you for the big stuff

go to the bank straight away , CRC have been hacked a few times recently and had details stolen , there was hundreds of people hit in the last thread about it i seen on a bike forum

Only reason I noticed myself is because I keep track of money going in and out of my account on my phone and the balaces are different by the above figures.

When I contacted the bank about the £1.23 they said it was a transaction which had been signed for (not me though)

So if you dont track your accounts it may not appear for a while.
