Nicky Romero didn't play because he was due to fly from Ibiza to UK on the afternoon, and just as his flight took off a bird hit the engine, had to land in Spain.

I watched
AVICII - normally a bit too commercial for me, but as it was the last ever UK set, didn't want to miss out, and it was ace.
Axwell was top notch also.
Like Mike & Dimitri Vegas on Saturday was ace also.
Hardwell on Sunday was amazing, even though the electrics blew right at the start of his set and they had to fix it (took about 15mins). We were only about 4 rows from the front/centre of the stage for Hardwell, it was like a crazy mosh pit haha
Tiesto as ever was flawless, a look more hard stuff from him, which was very nice to hear.
Laidback Luke was my overall favourite though. Banging set

The best thing is we made some new friends who actually live < 4miles from my house too - already planning to go out together, this is what makes festivals so fun, everybody is so god damn friendly. And it's not the MDMA either!

Please tell me you went and saw other DJ's and you didn't just go and see all of the EDM big-room cheesers?

I was there for 3 days, yes I saw all the lesser known guys too.

Seb Fontaine was excellent, used to be one of my fave DJ's back in the 90s.

I did make sure I avoided Danny Howard though and Annie Mac too.

I have some old clubbing friends going to same event, so may meet up

I can't believe I went on a coach to global gathering 2002 on my own to meet up with people iv never met before, yet these days I feel I can't do that unless I have close friends about and want to go out to an event.

Was some of the best days of my life meeting random people and becoming friends

yeh those were the best years. I started of listening to trance in the early days of god's kitchen and gatecrasher but also was in to hard house so most of my time in those days were running between the god's kitchen and sunndisentials arena /polys.

I did more of the clubs though but was at GG from about 2002 to 2006.
