Creamfields

ive just got back, my tent was near the entrance too like OP's.

there was literally a river running through the middle of our tent and it stunk like pure ****.
Had to abandon it there along with sleeping bags and chairs just floating round the middle.

so annoyed about missing the main acts tonight as well :(

Who did you see yesterday?

the ones i enjoyed the most were
cazzette
ben gold (not heard him before but good)
judge jules
mat zoe
skrillex (dont like skrillex but as i was walking past the tent, the atmosphere looked good so decided have a wander in and thought the atmosphere and set were good)
above and beyond
avicii

i was most looking forward to sundays, like john o cala, dirty south, deadmau5, tiesto, calvin harris etc

i even went back to the tent early to get some sleep so i could go harder on sunday, missed gareth emery and markus schultz cus of that

who did you see

Nervo, Madeon, Pete Tong, Alesso, Avicii, Nicky Romero, Annie Mac (very poor), Friction.

Some others but cant really remember.

I'm sorry to hear they closed up - I was ankle deep in mud last time I went and that was bad enough but to have streams of water is not good.

I love how people were posting pictures from Glastonbury '05 with the guy swimming, even when pointed to the originals on Flickr, they'd still claim furiously that they were taken at Creamfields.

It's often a gamble in the UK - August Bank Holiday is known to be wet most of the time and it seems that the CF site does have a drainage problem. But what to do? Find another site which could take forever or put up with it and hope that it never gets too bad?

Edit: Just thought - will this mean the chances of them getting a license for next year will be under scrutiny, or that fact that they managed the situation in the best interests of the public mean they will be fine?

I imagine It will be dubious as to whether it runs next year because there is going to be a phenomenal amount of legal fees paid out on the corresponding insurance claims that are going to be made, plus the fact that any insurer would be mad to cover the site in the future.

Should never have been moved from the airfields really. It might pay off to move it to a different part of the country. Way too many scousers going round in big groups thinking they're big and 'ard.

How long ago was it at the airfields?

When I went to CF I never had any problems or saw any big groups of scousers thinking they were big n ard. I did see one drunken fight but that was it

What ever happened to the Matterly bowl where homelands used to be held? was a good place to hold.

Airfield is another good idea like Global Gathering. Good part of the country, no chavs and scousers and even when it rains it can still cope enough unlike creamfields did. Although they wouldnt hold creamfields and global there, but its more to the fact that it prooves that an airfield would be a good option.

"I WANT A REFUND" claims on Facebook/Twitter
"Such bad organisation, why wasnt it run better!" etc etc

What do people expect the organisers to do?

*Bring bring* "Hello God? Yes its Creamfields here, not sure if you exist or not but if you do could you please make it sunny for this weekend? Cheers" *click*

It is a risk you take with any festival, like it or lump it.

I'm not bothered about a refund as the Saturday was well worth it alone. I can see how some people would want one though as the Sunday had some of the biggest acts.

I didnt go (luckily) but was very close to buying a sunday day ticket.

I would have expected a full refund for face value of the ticket if went on sunday or a partial refund if I had a weekend ticket.

Yes, it rained but it sounded like the organisation was terrible and it has had problems for a few years as its on site that is known to flood. (farmers field that is ploughed isnt it)

It rained none stop at T in the park and that wasnt cancelled, it also always rains at Glasto.

THIS is why i will never go to a festival

Nothing wrong with festivals, however, the past few years they have gone downhill big time with poor lineup's, organisers not thinking about your target audiance when it comes to booking acts and organising the arena's/stages, introduction of some seriously shoddy camping organisation.

I liked the festivals back in the day where a festival centred around the clubbing scene was purely this. and overnight not 3 days long, cant stand festival camping.

Radio1's big weekend was fantastic, would love to see them arrange a real 3 day festival with camping.

TBH, Radio 1's big weekend is very broad in terms of mainstream music style though. I am on about festivals like creamfields and global gathering. Global Gathering more specifically, as from 2001 - 2005/6 this was one of the best festivals going, however, they sold out, got rid of the Godskitchen branding, re-jigged it and brought in some really out of place acts which I dont believe belonged there, got rid of two of the arena's which in first 4/5 years were clearly the best and always the most full. Acts coming in which had no place in the clubbing/dance category.

Globals big mistake was getting rid of the Godskitching branding/organising, went all downhill from here.

Creamfield tbh should move themselfs out of Liverpool, far too much chav trouble.

Festivals are amazing and something that everyone should experience at least once

Will look into doing Hideout, Snowbombing or something like Tomorrow land or Qlimax in Holland next year. 1 day / night events are superb such as when I did Sensation a few years ago but for the full experience camping is needed

Camping the first day before arenas open and going to the campsite DJ tents is always fantastic, or getting your own group party going around tents. Then theres the experience of waking up in a tent as hot as a greenhouse, climbing out and getting straight back onto the Strongbows, toilets and how to use (or not use) etc.

Isnt Glade dance festival about 6 or 7 days, constant music too?
