I have two routers, a Sky branded Sagecom 2504N and a D-link DSL-2640S

I would like to turn one of them in to a wireless bridge, but am having difficulty

So far I've turned off DHCP on the bridge, and assigned them both different IP's, and for a while I'm pretty sure it was working, but then it stopped

What could be the problem?

That'll be why it won't work then. Without WDS, you're not going to be able get one router to connect to the WiFi of the other.

Or do you mean an access point, and not a bridge?

I'd like to use it as an wireless extender with the option to plug in to the ethernet ports

Is there no firmware that can be flashed on? Or is it a limitation of the hardware?

I don't think the D-link DSL-2640S supports WDS out of the box from Sky, and I can't see any firmwares that will maintain current function whilst adding WDS.

I didn't look very hard though, and now you know what you're looking for you may have more luck.
