Hi guys,

I am taking 100% Whey which is helping me a lot. I've been recommended to take Creatine. I've been looking at a few supplements and they're clearly too many to choose from. I've gone for the following. Is this an energy supplement as well, or should I be taking something in addition to help energy levels?

yep, something carb based about an hour - 45 mins before and some protein powder.

creatine wise, quite a few things in that, personally i would buy stuff separately and mix it yourself.

creapure
AAKG
OKG
taurine
BA

buying in bulk will save you loads.

tbh though, i doubt that you really need all of that or what is in the product you linked.

creapure would probably be enough.

Creapure
If looking for bang for buck then Creapure (creatine monohydrate) is where it's at. This stuff really works, it's the most researched supplement ever and is 100% safe with no side effects... though some people on here will argue they've had some, don't listen as it's been proved it's not down to the creatine ;)
Dose = 5g every morning + 2g pre workout + 2g PWO.
Rating = 10/10

AAKG
Want a bit of help with endurance, a little fancy pump and possibly some help with GH release? Then try AAKG... personally I don't think this is needed but it's ok
Dose = 2g-6g pre workout.
Rating = 4.5/10

Beta Alanine
Need some help with cardio? Suffering with lactic acid? Then try Beta Alanine, this stuff really does work and it's even better when stacked with Creapure. Gives you an itchy prickly feeling for a couple of mins after taking it but nothing to worry about :)
Dose = 5g per day, split into 2/3 servings.
Rating = 8/10

Taurine
Taurine is a great bang for buck supp with so many uses. Beta Alanine depletes taurine levels so it's a good idea to use this at the same time, it's very cheap anyway.
Dose = 2g-4g Pre Workout. 2g before bed to help with sleep.
Rating = 9/10

Ornithine Alpha Ketoglutarate - OKG
Now this stuff blew me away when I took it, it's truly awesome and I'd put it on a par with a weak steroid. I've NEVER experienced strength gains like it... and I was cutting at the time! The only drawback is the cost, it's very expensive to take in high doses so you really need to import it from the USA. Truly awesome supp though that does pretty much everything, main ones being it increases GH release and anti-catabolic.
Another good use is it cleans up all the toxins from a high protein diet and it gives BIG strength increases. I can't wait to try this when I bulking :) Stacks very well with all the above supplements.
NOTE: Must be 2:1 ratio don't be conned with the cheaper, useless 1:1 ratio.
Dose = 10g rest days & 20g Training Days split into 4 servings.
Rating = 9.5/10 (only because of the high cost!)

... guess who had 10 mins to kill before gym :D

Too much info. Will that Dymatize Xpand be enough? It should turn up tomorrow and I'll see how it goes. :)
It's just basically creatine, taurine and glutamine... nothing special at all, hope you didn't pay too much for it ;)
good response Chong lol, you think Creapure is better than CEE??
Yes I do, CEE is overhyped and bad for your teeth... I didn't get anything from it at all, apart from a nasty taste in my mouth.

I didn't get anything from CEE. I am currently using Creapure and it is without a doubt the best creatine supp I've ever used.

Eythl Esther is something new, that people pay for because it's 'supposed' to be better when in reality it just might not be and probably isn't.

Yeah i took it for about a month at 3g a day but saw no increase just seemed to get lots of headaches. Think i will just stick with the whey for the time being as i need to put on some basic bulk first :P Still 9 and a half stone. weed.

Can't say I've felt much off either when I've done them. I think I'm a non responder :(
Like you need it with your lifts!! ;)

It's built on the reputation of monohydrate... says it all really?

Im taking that CEE at the minute and I must agree its pretty awful. I did orignally take some mono from *cough* H&B *cough* and that was good I felt the difference compared to this. Ive just made an order in the week as well should have got Creapture when at it :(

I don't know if I ever really noticed much of an improvement when using creatine. I used the toilet a lot more though...

I think it was £30. Any particular reason why you don't have to load with this stuff? Am guessing that because it has taurine, I won't need any energy supplements?

Anyone tried Creatine Gluconate? I'm taking SizeOn at the moment and responding really well. My size and lifts have increased quite a bit in the month I've been taking it.

Prickly feeling is odd to start with, mainly in lips. Don't kiss the misses after taking it as she will think you are taking some seriously dodgy stuff hehe

lol, I'd had my pre-workout stack and was sat at the PC fizzing with 10 mins to kill :D

As for all the other kinds of creatine I just think it's all a marketing scam. Why try to fix a problem that isn't there? To make money? ;) Monohydrate works but I think with creatine you'll notice the difference more, the more your own natural creatine pool is depleted. I've used mono at the wrong time before and not noticed anything and if it was my first time using I'd probably say I was a non-responder as I was expecting these miracle claims...

Take it properly and it's the single best supplement bar none. Train your ass off for 2 months, train so hard your eyes bulge at least once per session :D Get your own pool depleted.... THEN supplement with it. Use Creapure, not the cheap crap from China. Take it with loads of water, some electrolytes (apparently salts can help with absorption?) and at a time you'll be more insulin sensitve... so with a carby breakfast and/or post-workout.

Also try the loading phase for the first 4-5 days... can't hurt?
