Hi,
I've been seriously considering building a HTPC for a while now, but a major stumbling block seems to be how I'm going to store and access all my media. I currently have a couple of TBs spread over several disks, but I would like to consolidate this all into one place. I was thinking of using my old work PC and some new 3*1tb drives (+ a controller card + Freenas or Windows home server) in a RAID 5 array, to allow for some redundancy.
Here are my questions:
Is this the best setup for simple media storage and streaming?
What if in the future I wanted to add another 1TB HD, how difficult is it to migrate the data to the new disk?
Thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated
Ben
