Hey guys,

Im trying to make a custom version of windows 10 using Vlite (also tried NLite) but its asking for the windows instillation folder,I do not have the installation folder or DVD..I purely have the Windows ISO file downloaded from Microsoft.

Why wont Vlite or Nlite allow you to use ISO files?..is there anything i can use to make a custom version of windows using just the ISO file?

If your wondering why i want to make a custom version,I just want to cut the unnecessary crap out like language packs, and other nonsense i dont use..also id like to add drivers etc.

you need to extract the ISO file to a folder and then point Vlite\nlite to this location.

you can extract the ISO file using WinRAR (which is what I use).

once you have finished with it you can then create a bootable USB stick and copy over the extracted ISO folder to that.

****edit****

just thought on another option.

Use Rufus to burn the ISO to a USB stick, this will make it bootable and do everything for you and also give you access to the install folders that Nlite\Vlite needs.

Once you have saved your changes etc in Vlite\Nlite you are then ready to install your custom W10 from USB :)
