creating my own e-mail template.

Hi everyone, I am creating my own email template but I was wondering if any of you could shed some light on some questions I have.

I understand HTML coding is the way templates are created but is this the only way?

How do i import it into an email in hotmail?

I had to create 2 for work recently and they were a nightmare, especially trying to get them to look perfectly in Outlook.
