Hi,

I am looking at establishing a connection in the garage, there is already a conduit running power out there now so installing a cable should be fairly straightforwards. It will just be a cable which runs from the router, into a faceplate connection which will then run down the conduit out to the garage.

Once the cable is installed I would like to be able to have a single wired connection but also a wifi network available out there. I dont really want to spend a fortune as the garage space isn't huge, but I am just not sure what type of networking device I need in the garage to achieve this and how best to get it setup?

Thanks

Best case scenario - run 2 cables one for the wireless access point and one for the wired connection.

If you only have one cable space in your conduit then something with a UniFi UAP-IW or UAP-IW HD gives you 2 or 4 RJ45 ports and a wireless access point off one cable.
