Creative after X-fi

Well they sold X-fi to Auzentech as far as I'm aware. Maybe the latter's offer was too good to miss. Or perhaps Creative didn't mind getting rid of it because they have something superb down the line. I don't really know.

I personally can't wait to get a Xonar though.
 
Yeah they licenced the X-fi chip to Auzentech, Same as Intel/AMD etc... do with their chipsets.

What can you expect from a new soundcard, really, I mean has the sound improved that much coming from an Audigy 2?

Yeah you read all these posts from anal audiophiles saying how great this and that are but they are only trying to justify the rather high premium for little to no gain.
 
X-FI 2, I have had the .ISO for it for months, given to me by Classic Leon.

THey only let others use the XFI chip same as Nvidia do with card makers (or until 7000 as all made by same company now).

There is no such thing as the xfi 2.

BAKKA! those are the revised drivers for the xfi! creative have done a vista xfi disk with the whole range of apps updated with a new look.
I am using the exact same software on my machine with my elite pro!
So a big :rolleyes: right back at you because your spewing more bs again.

As an oem system builder I have direct contact with creative and I have already asked about a new range, there isn't one to come for a long time.
 
I also know that, I have the offical Creative .ISO for Vista, this .ISO is not same, anyhow there will be a new Creative card as they said long ago, they told about the issues with latency on PCI-E bus for soundcards and it would be better on PCI-E 2.0, thats probably the reason the current PCI-E card is pants and basic.

The pci-e xfi comes from the xfi extreme audio for express card slots, it is not basic or pants, I have used quite a few now, you have not.

The reason for creative not bothering up till now with pci-e xfi is the r&d money needed for such things and they do not want to design a card for a bus that is mainly used for graphics cards and disk controllers, it has since changed.

I do have contacts, what would you know about me? and I would rather not argue on the internet as it's rather pointless tbh.

The current PCI-E card is basic, its no where near the better models, you do not know what I have or have not tried.

Creative did say making a soundcard work with the high latencey on the PCI-E 1.0 bus was a lot of work and would be easier on 2.0. (learn to use Google)


There is new Creative cards due in shorterm, name may be X-FI 2 or whatever they want to call it.
