Still on for this week:

Fingers crossed; I'd love a non-beta X-Fi Vista driver!

I'd love to buy an X Fi card to replace my Audigy 2. I can't though as my Creative DTT3500 digital speaker set will not work with an X-fi as it doesn't have a 5.1 channel digital output.

Same here with my Audigy 2ZS & Creative 5700 speakers. Really annoying

I think the point being made here is the X-Fi stopped the digital DIN output that the Audigy series had (I think Creative/Dolby wanted to stop the option of ripping DVDs with 5.1 digital sound). There has been a load of moaning on this over on the Creative forums since the X-fi came out.
You can use coax/optical but I believe this only gives 5.1+ output on DVDs while games etc. will only be stereo (or upmix stereo to higher). The only way to get 5.1+ for games is to use the analog connections - which screws me as my Creative 5700 speakers are limited to 4.0 for analog (5.1 for digital DIN).
If anybody can correct me then please do as I last looked at this some time ago.

i only have one problem with the Creative Vista bata Driver that is sometimes the sound just cuts out and i need to reboot to get the sound back....
