Creative X-Fi Titanium background noise/interference

I've just received my X-FI Titanium and I'm already desperate for help.

After installing the card and the drivers I was looking forward to seeing what the card was like. Unfortunately as soon as the PC goes past POST the most annoying interference comes from the card (headphones/speakers.. makes no difference).


There's a low cracking noise all the time and then the odd beep as if the card is picking up interference from other components in the PC. I've had an X-Fi Xtreme music and an Asus Xonar DG but they never exhibited anything like this.

Is it a known fault/problem with the X-Fi Titanium? Anything I can do about it?

My bad luck continues. Just contacted the person I bought it off only to find out it did the same for them and he "forgot" to mention it to me..

Send it back .. Mine works perfectly without any strange noises .. You will have many that will cry creative sucks ... but one of the best sounding cards with my Z-5500's once it's setup right..
