Creative ZxR

Is this soundcard any good for VST audio? I know it's designed primarily as a gaming soundcard but it comes with ASIO drivers and a very high quality headphone amp. I won't be using it for recording. Just for running Ableton and VSTs.

I have a Soundblaster Zx which is the model below the one you mentioned, i can say that using it in Cubase and AmpliTube the ASIO function works great. So i'd imagine the ZxR will work the same and probably better, hope this helps

Cool thanks. Do you happen to know if you need the input expansion card connected on the zxr for it function?

Also what OS and which version of cubase are you running?

yes for the smaller daughter board to work it needs to be connected to the zxr with a supplied ribbon cable.the add on card is not required for the zxr to work though hope this helps

I'm running Windows 7 and that's with Cubase 5
