Credit card query

I was under the impression that this is no longer the case (as of ~Oct 04)?

I think you’re right, as I look at my credit files every few months to ensure I'm not being scammed by identity theft... Last I read it was on longer linked to the address but to you.

Isn’t it odd, you need credit to get credit, yet if you have no credit its worse then having lots of credit and perhaps running the risk of default. No history to judge on.. I’m sure capital one have a credit building credit card they give to those who have never had credit before…

Could be wrong…

I haven't looked into it for some time, so you may be right.

I only say this as I had my sister removed in Aug 04 and was told by Equifax at the time, that as of that October their report only includes details of yourself, irrespective of who lives at the same address etc. I've since received a report from them (about 6 months ago) and indeed I was the only person with any financial details on it, whereas previously the report had both my details, my sisters and my parents.

It's the Capital One Classic with a typical 29.9% APR variable.

The other card for credit building is the Vanquis at 39.9%, as mentioned above.

No one should be using either of these for credit with rates like that, they should be used purely for building up your credit history by repaying in full every month.
