Credit cards for everyone

I don't profess to be an expert on debit cards but in my experience they do not operate in real-time and do not take into consideration uncleared funds and pending transactions. Therefore you can go overdrawn and not realise until your bank sends you a demand for £25 or more for the pleasure of the unautherised OD. If no OD has been arranged, it won't be long before the bank freezes everything, so it's not likely to amount to a great deal. My gripe is that unless you get a detailed breakdown of the current state of play and anything pending before using a debit card, you will end up paying that £25 for every transaction while in the red.

Even if it's possible to go overdrawn with solo, you could just arrange an account where you can't do that.

If anyone out there is truely paranoid about credit cards on the net, capital one do a "webcard" service that generates a new credit card number, valid for one transaction only, via the press of a button on their website. You make the transaction, its paid, and the number immediately becomes useless.

Doesn't bother me like, I put everything on my Switch and use my Mint card for sites that need it and pay off with Switch straight away.

hmmm were does one find this 'webcard' service, jsut had a quick goosey on their site, cant see anythin, could one point me in the right direction lol?
