Are OCUK intending to offer any finance/credit option buy now pay later sort of thing. For all us impatient people. Several competitors do and it's swaying me towards them so I can have things now instead of waiting and saving.

What's stopping you from doing that then? What if worst comes to the worst and you buy now but can't cough up the dough later on? Maybe that's why OcUK don't offer the service, they really care about us and our well being! :D

moved to GD, but AFAIK the owner has said (repeatedly) in the past that it's not something they're really interested in.

I strongly advise against finance! It can lead to real pressure making repayments and make your life uncomfortable.

I suggest saving like a m**********r and paying with cash WHEN YOU HAVE THE MONEY!

Credit cards F.T.W! but i always pay back the full amount each month, so i guess that doesn't really count :p
Why the hell would ocuk want to offer credit anyway? you think they're not making enough money as it is?
if it isn't broken...

[edit]
for reference, *** means "for the win" not sure why it's ***ed

Now sure how serious this was, but any business that thinks it's making enough money needs to take a look at itself imo!

Ask the owners of OCUK if they're making "enough money" - I don't think the answer should ever be "yes" ;)

I owe £800 that I need to pay off by november, I've only saved £200 towards it so far : /

The problem is that I keep buying new stuff although I try to put the money from my old stuff into my savings account to pay off the credit.

If you need to think about buying something on credit, then you can't afford it.

Listen to the man.

I'm 39 , been down Credit Street , it seems like a shortcut , but ends up a Motorway with no turn offs.

Cheers,

May aswell hand the car and house back then, come on get realistic, something need to be bought on credit and most people pay it back no problems.

A lot of companies end up going under due to offering credit. They then need credit from their suppliers and it can cause too many problems.

Also, with buying PC stuff on finance you are basically paying for yesterdays technology.

Say 6 months interest free. In 6 months time you have to cough up £200 for your CPU which now costs just £80, it would make you think, bugger.

Well said... Completely agree..
.

Not gone through that route however parents have..save up.

I'd only advocate credit in the form of a mortgage and possibly a car loan. Anything less than that and it's a slippery slope imo. I've learnt quite quickly that I'm not disciplined enough to pay off a credit card each month so don't use one now. Sure I won't get the security of being able to get money off the credit card company if a transaction goes wrong, but not being in debt outweighs that imo.
