So the test series starts this Thursday and England have announced their test squad for the first match.

AJ Strauss (c) (Middlesex)
AN Cook (Essex)
IJL Trott (Warwickshire)
KP Pietersen (Hampshire)
EJG Morgan (Middlesex)
IR Bell (Warwickshire)
MJ Prior (wkt) (Sussex)
TT Bresnan (Yorkshire)
GP Swann (Nottinghamshire)
JM Anderson (Lancashire)
ST Finn (Middlesex)
A Shahzad (Yorkshire)

As expected Collingwood and Broad get rested, Collingwood as he has an injury and Broad for 'strength' training.

We have 6 batsmen, 1 keeper and 5 bowlers, who will miss out for the test? Do we go 6/1/4 in which case it will probably be Shahzad or 5/1/5 in which case Morgan? The problem I see with Collingwood missing out is we lose a part time bowler so I think we really need 5 bowlers for a balanced team as only Pietersen from the batsmen bowls much, but I suspect we will go with 6 batsmen because we always do.

So there we have it. Bangladesh win the toss and bowl. Ajmal misses out.

Bangladesh team: 1 Tamim Iqbal, 2 Imrul Kayes, 3 Junaid Siddique, 4 Jahurul Islam, 5 Mohammad Ashraful, 6 Shakib Al Hasan (capt), 7 Mahmudullah, 8 Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), 9 Rubiul Islam, 10 Rubel Hossain, 11 Shahadat Hossain

Cant wait to see how Morgan bats. Probably just his usual!

Great to have TMS back on for the summer of Test cricket, with CMJ and Tuffers on at the moment - you can't beat it with a big stick!

i'm assuming we should stuff them correct ?

Of course...Bangladesh are hardly world powers in cricket...they have got a few lucky results in the past but one thing they arent is consistent.

I dont expect anything but an England whitewash or series win.

Good day for England finishing on 362/4. Push on over 500 and put Bangladesh into bat for a session and a bit tomorrow. Should be over in four days this one :)

So on the morning of the sencond day England are 362 for 4 (90.0 overs):

Strauss b Mahmudullah 83
Cook lbw b Shahadat 7 1
Trott not out 175
Pietersen b Shakib 18
Bell b Rubel 17
E Morgan not out 40
Extras 22
362-4

Nice days cricket :).

How about a triple from Trott? The last time an English batsman got over 300 was in 1990 when Gooch got 333. I think we need another one. I hope for a declaration some where around 550-600 just after tea.

Trott gets his first double century...just got there a few mins ago...well done but against a weak and frankly rubbish Bangladesh side...it was no great surprise really.

Trott makes his 200:

Strauss b Mahmudullah 83
Cook lbw b Hossain 7
Trott not out 205
Pietersen b Al Hasan 18
Bell b Hossain 17
Morgan c Mushfiqur Rahim b Hossain 44
Prior run out 16
Bresnan not out 15
Extras 26
431-6 (110 overs)

At lunch England are 456-6 (117 overs):

Strauss b Mahmudullah 83
Cook lbw b Hossain 7
Trott not out 217
Pietersen b Al Hasan 18
Bell b Hossain 17
Morgan c Mushfiqur Rahim b Hossain 44
Prior run out 16
Bresnan not out 24
Extras 30
