Crippled GPU performance in new mobo

Hi all,

Wondering if anybody knows what is most likely to be causing my GTX980 to be hugely underperforming in benchmarks having been switched to a new Z97 motherboard, compared with what it was doing before?

Cheers

Unfortunately everything is currently back in old motherboard - was hoping for inspiration as to what it might be before new motherboard takes the blame (as all other components are tried and tested).

Did you check what PCI E speed it was running at? Could have been if it wasn't seated correctly and was running at a reduced lane speed it was reducing performance.

Which motherboard did you move from, and which to? Also, which PCI-E slot on the motherboard are you using for the GPU in each case as some boards only have one slot that runs at full speed and some that run slower?

Cheers everyone - it's going into an H97N Wifi (a mini ITX board with only one PCI-Express slot). I'd thought about updating the BIOS in case some dodgy setting had become active e.g. restricting the RAM performance. Will check GPU-Z too.
