By the way Jakas I might only be new on here but a friendly bit word of advice my friend:

I would just like to say this...
I critisise ATI for thier statement saying that Crossfire will optimise ALL games.
Crysis does not have any Crossfire optimision at the moment - full stop!
But... All my other games includeing UT3 and COD4 are flying with Crossfire... So i for one am still very happy. My Crossfired 3870's match or are faster than my friends SLIed 8800Gtx KO's in every other game i have tried.
So... ATI crossfire... No for Crysis (yet) but yes for all other games.

Can you show some benchmarks of 3870s beating GTXs.. i find this hard to beleive. I gues its all down to the optimization of sli and crossfire, but id still like to see. How did you test it? Im guesing you both dont have the same pcs
Yes they Would Bigdave, My X1950XTX crossfire setup would in a lot of games, so it follows 2X 3870 which are faster must pull away by a good bit !
Theres plenty of stuff around regarding 1950's Crossfire Vs GTX
OK messed that up a bit..2 X GTX may be a little different but I would think it would be close either way

You could also try playing without FRAPS on that can prevent crossfire from working properly in games I am told.

in every benchmark ive ever seen showing crossfire agains SLi, Crossfire has rarely come out on top. Especialy when AA was added. The nvida cards are faster as well which didn't help.
Ive yet to see anything with a 3870 vs a GT though in crossfrie and sli. You say your 1950s in crossfire beat a GTX. That has nothing to do with 3870 cf vs 8800 GT sli

Yeah I do get a bit serious around here, we have some good threads which 90% of the time fill up with bickering from people who have nvidia cards

Whats that ment to mean exacly? That its wrong that people have nvidia cards and think they are better? I think youd be hard pressed to find a benchmark which shows amd/ati cards out performing nvidia cards. They are now going to the price performance instead and the 3870 is a great card. But its still not as fast as the GT and id rather pay the extra for the GT for that extra performance. Their 2900 was a disaster that they managed to save for a while with the pro because it was so cheap. Their 2600 is beter then the 8600 i beleive but doesn't intrest me as i want performance i my pc.
Its a fact that the 3870 on its own is slowe then the GT as far as im aware. If you want to argue that then id liek you to show me some proof first and id like to know why you beleive the GT is slower? Becauase you like amd/ati more?
The reason id like to see proof that the crossfire beats the sli is because all the otehr benchmarks ive seen its not been the case. But ive never seen them with the new cards and i do infact hope that it beats them because id rather an intel board then an nvida board so i can get 2x 3870s instead. But i worry about the crysis performance.
And like i said above, saying your 1950s beat a gtx has nothing to do with it.

I've seen nothing yet but I expect we will start to when Crysis starts supporting 2 cards.
My experience with 2 8800GTS in SLi put me off a bit, except for 3D2006 we seemed to have more downs than ups, it may be much better now but I prefer Crossfire

Ive never ever based a pc's performance on 3dmark. Wasn't it also biast to the 2900? Can't remember why. When i looked at the Bit tech review they showed SLI GTS, GTX, GT, Crossfire 2900xt 1gb and 512mb and possibly 1950. They both seemed to suffer the same in certain games. If a game was badly optimized for crossfire it was the same for sli.
