Played it through to the last level (on the carrier, Reckoning I think it is...) but no matter what I do to it, I can't play that level, I've got all the detail as low as it'll go with AA off @ 800x600 lol and it still freezes and crashes out...

Any updates/fixes that'll make it flow better?

Had a look but can't find any :( frustrating being that close to the end and it keep dying on me lol
 
2GB of Ram? You don't have 4? That level is really taxing on computers, it's a problem on my system until i turn one setting off that i can't remember.

The level can also bug, so try a previous save, and is the game up to date?
 
Have you tried going to the previous save? I had a problem like that because of corrupt save files - no idea why it happened.
 
Reading your sig mate, that's a poor machine to play Crysis on. Sorry to be blunt. 4GB is a must these days.

Try cheating (google Crysis cheats) and loading the next level. As mentioned, your save my be corrupted
 
Rubbish. I first played Crysis all the way through on a machine with 1gb and a crappy 256mb video card. His ram is not what's stopping him from playing.
 
What DX mode are you running the game under? I had to drop to DX level 9.0 to run that level without crashing my computer and that was with a much higher spec than you are running the game with

I'll be blunt and say that's a load of tosh.
I can run Crysis on my 3 year old laptop on medium 30fps minimum, Zepto 6224w.
8600M GT/C2D 1.5ghz/2GB DDR2.

4GB may be a must these days, but the game came out years ago and didn't really need it then. I only moved from 2GB to 6GB in AUG09. From release till then it ran fine.
 
i played crysis1 to completion on 2gb of ram perfectly fine and with a similar cpu to the OP aswell. So 4gb is most defaintely not required.
sounds like a bug to me and a reload of a save or reinstall is in order.
 
Can't skip to the next level, this is the last one lol

I may try and download someone elses savegame for that level, see if it is that... I've even tried running it in compatability mode @ 640x480 with no joy lol everything in graphics settings is either off or as low as it can go :( I think it hates me lol

The rest of the game ran fine all the way through on high/medium at 1280x1024 8xAA so I assume it's just a borked save... Might reinstall and see if that helps too

Will get back to ya on this :)

Incidentally, if anyone has a savegame they'd like to host for me, that'd be great :) save me downloading virus-ridden saves from dodgy sources lol
 
Try the game with DX Level 9 it will fix the issue you are having.

I had exactly the same issue on my system and that was with 4gb of RAM and crossfire 5770, it's just a very buggy level i'm afraid
 
I have the same issue, installed Crysis again in anticipation of the sequel, but it literally crashes to desktop within 30 seconds every single time gameplay or cutscenes starts, with AMD driver issues reported. I've tried several different drivers and nothing seems to work :(

I can't play Crysis at all. It's incredibly annoying. None of my other games have this issue. Tried it on DX9, DX10, with 32 and 64 bit .exes. No combo will go more than half a minute without crashing to desktop.
 
The last level is definitely buggy. I had the same problem with 5850 and 3GB ram. I changed the settings to dx9 mode and chose medium settings and it seemed fine afterwards.

At one point when you have to go down inside the ship, i kept falling through the ship lol :p.
 
I gave up with the end boss after the hundreth try was really tedious and pointless. Its like the games havent even changed in over ten years.

I dont think your missing much after all the effort I expect all you get is some rubbish cutscene.

Weird, a similar thing happened to me on the last level of Crysis Warhead. I had a save game in the big tower, and if I went outside on the ledge, I fell through it. So I didn't do that :)
