Thinking about upgrading to cope with my increased video/photo editing and handling needs as my system is a bit slow. (Having only 512Mb)

So thanks to some other threads I came up with this spec.

Would you guys change any item for something else around the same price? Or even spend more or less for greater "bang per buck"

Do you think the PSU is necessary as I already have a ATX2 PSU but it's only 350W (Antec phantom 350W bought for my media PC)?

Thanks.

Looks pretty good to me. Sure you don't want a better graphics card? No idea what the one you have chosen is like but I am just wondering if it would struggle with your photo/video editing. I suspect you wont be gaming anyway!

Don't need the Arctic Silver. The Freezer 7 comes with MX-1 pre-applied and it is just as good as AS. Save yersel a fiver :D

Yea the only thing wrong is the card. It won't handle any kind of modern games really.

If you don't want to spend more then £100 on it then get a 7600GT PCI-E. That will do for most games and is pretty damn good for the price.

Thanks guys, would you agree I definitely need a new PSU?
I think it would be a good idea to get the Enermax that you listed. PSU's are quite prone to *wearing* down after a good year or two's use!

Cheers tetras.

Might just use my old case. It's aluminium and I quite like it...but who knows when you're doing a whole new build it's nice to start fresh eh?

Problem is that I started looking to buy some new RAM in order to get quicker handling of big digital pictures , now I'm looking at spending 700 quid!!!!!!

You all know that feeling I'll bet!!!!

could you not just upgrade memory on existing setup, may be a new drive to

This is probably the sensible thing to do...but you know how it goes when you get an itch to build something new!!!!
