I think I like this shot I'm not sure, might be lacking something

I don't think the noise/grain suits the type of picture and the purple flare at the top left is kind of distracting. Otherwise it's a nice shot.

Is it a scan of a film shot?

Also i'm not normally one to pick up on distorton but the horizon is annoying.

I agree. Noise is unpleasant, flare is distracting. Nothing really in the image.

, I always get the most honest of opinions from this site, I don't know why.

I don't mind the grain (quite like it actually), the lens flare does bug me, but it's in a position that makes it really hard to clone out.

And I'm not sure what you mean by the horizon?

That purple bit might not be lens flare - it's likely from a hot CCD - Taking long exposures can do that.

Yeah, it looks like amp noise.

It wasn't taken on a D80 by any chance, was it?

Nope my trusty old D70, I will upgrade it one day. But with a baby on the way that might not be any time soon
