Crohns / ulcerative colitis sufferers

yeah I've read about this before, anti-MAP treatment is already available in the form of antibiotics though is only temporary a vaccine such as this one could be an actual cure... (assuming they are correct in their hypothesis that MAP is the cause)

I have everything crossed for this.

I signed a petition a while back. Got an email yesterday

Well this would be great if it works. I have Chrohn's, though I've been in remission since 2006. Still, its always been on my mind that one day it could raise its ugly head again.

The theory behind this is very interesting, I read it earlier today, hopefully his research will work out, and an 'infective' and 'genetic' crosslink found, so those who are susceptible can be vaccinated.

I wouldn't be surprised if a similar modality could be the join route cause of MS. Not the mycobacterium, but a viral infection leading to body response and in turn the inflammation.

I do like novel research. What first gives the person the idea, and when they are in a position to actually follow it up. Superb!

Just remember there's not a great deal of profit in a cure.

Disgusting to see that they are having to fundraise for the remainder. £470k is a drop in the ocean for big pharma.

Yup, there's no money to be made from a perfectly healthy populace unfortunately. Shows how Crohns and UC are viewed when they are having to raise the 470K themselves.

If only they knew how dibiltating it can be when it flares up. :(

UC suffer here, i had it really bad from when i was 19 to 31, then it got a lot better, i'm not 100% and have some difficult days sometimes but it's a lot better than it used to be. So looking forward to a cure, if i can last another 10 years then hopefully a jab will make sure i have a much better older life

Ulcerative colitis here. 16 long years. Thrilled to see some new developments in this field.
